Quartet121 premieres six new string quartets by Reiko Füting and his former students, Ya-Lan Chan, Yu-Chun Chien, Turkar Gasimzada, Sunbin Kim, and Longfei Li. All alumni from Manhattan School of music, they share a passion and interest in reflecting on what it means to be a musician, a composer, and an artist.

Sound: Moves: Us
A project consisting of fourteen pieces by fourteen composers for seven percussionists and five dancers. The percussionists perform at or while moving to various locations in the park. They are accompanied by dancers who respond to the sounds and movements with specific and improvised choreographies.

Time To Break Silence: “…let freedom ring”

A project consisting of fourteen pieces by fourteen composers for fourteen trumpets players.
The performers are positioned in a large circle and coordinate via digital clocks. The project takes its title from a sermon given by Dr. Martin Luther King at Riverside Church which is located just South of Sakura Park.
